Up-and-coming second season sire Dundeel recorded his 20th individual winner in sensational style at Te Rapa, New Zealand when debutant Yourdeel raced away from his rivals to win by more than five lengths.

The third foal of city winner Miss Zapper (by Red Ransom), Yourdeel was offered by Little Avondale Stud at the 2018 Karaka Book 1 Sale and purchased for $100,000 by Chris Rutten who races him with John Norwood and Rod Preston.

Trained by Jamie Richards under the Te Akau Racing banner, Yourdeel was ridden by Opie Bosson who said after the win, “Everything was spot-on today, he travelled up and he had heaps there when I needed it.

“A couple flicks and it was all over, he obviously took a lot out of his trials and fronted up today.”

Rutten and Norwood won the 2014 Karaka Million and now have a live chance of a repeat victory with Yourdeel who is the first runner from Dundeel’s second crop. He is also Dundeel’s 9th individual winner in the past month.

The six-time Group 1 winner has 14 yearlings catalogued for the 2019 Magic Millions Sale, among them 7 colts and a filly in the Arrowfield draft.
