Dragon delighted with her unbeaten Doubt

Singapore trainer Leticia Dragon declared herself  “very happy” after the third consecutive win by Not A Single Doubt’s son Raise No Doubt at Kranji on Friday evening.

The 3YO gelding raced wide with cover in the $S75,000 Revolte 2009 Stakes Graduation until the top of the straight when jockey John Powell peeled him out to challenge Crazy Times. Raise No Doubt knuckled down to draw clear and win by 1.3 lengths from Crazy Times with Usain Colt third, in a time of 1:09.88, only 0.88 outside Mexican Rose’s record for 1200 metres on the Long Course.

Said Dragon, “I was quietly confident he would run well again as he’s been working well. It’s all about keeping him happy.

“I don’t have any long-term plans for him, just keep him to 1200m for now and we’ll see.”

Powell added, “He should get more ground, but for now, I think he will keep running over 1200m until he gets beat, and then we will go longer.”

Raise No Doubt is from the Hussonet mare Extremely and was initially sold by Arrowfield for $25,000 to Darby Bloodstock at the 2012 Inglis Classic Sale. (Arrowfield is also offering a filly by Flying Spur from Extremely as Lot 176 at Sunday’s Inglis Scone Select Yearling Sale.)

Raise No Doubt had three 2YO starts in Australia, including a second to subsequent Group-placed stakeswinner Everage, and was sold to George Tay’s Maple Stars Stable at the end of that season.

Raise No Doubt is one of Not A Single Doubt’s eight winners in Singapore, a group headed by Always Certain (Raffles Cup Sgp-1, Chairman’s Trophy Sgp-2 & Committee’s Prize Sgp-3) and stakes-placed winner Desert Fox.

Not A Single Doubt has had a terrific season in Australia, where six stakeswinners, including Group 2 winners Gypsy Diamond, Miracles of Life & Villa Verde, have put him among the country’s top 20 sires.

Not A Single Doubt stands the 2014 season at a fee of $33,000 inc. GST.
