A Sweet Idea to buy from Arrowfield & Bellerive

Easter Sale buyers need only read the latest racing news to find star graduates of Arrowfield and Bellerive Studs.

Record-breaking 3YO sprinter Snitzerland, Silver Slipper winner Sweet Idea and Group 2-winning filly Flying Snitzel have made headlines on three consecutive weekends this month.

Other current season stakeswinners purchased in the past two years from Arrowfield and Bellerive consignments are Lunar Rise, Members Joy, Assail, Urban Groove and Crack A Roadie. Together these eight horses have earned almost three times the money their owners paid for them.

They are the freshest decorations on a very rich cake. Arrowfield and Bellerive have sold more than 70 stakes performers since 2007 ? a list headed by Group 1-winning colts Master of Design and Reaan, both now at stud.

That record and a stellar group of 34 yearlings explain why Arrowfield?s Sam Fairgray, Bellerive?s Jo Monehan and their teams can expect little downtime on the parade days leading into the Inglis Australian Easter Sale.

The individuals are backed up by power-packed catalogue pages. Seventeen of them boast Group or Listed Stakes-winning dams, and their siblings or close relatives include Group 1 winners Reaan, Inspiration, Cesario, US Champions Wandesta and Afleet Alex, and recent stakeswinners Assail, Members Joy and Urban Groove.

Ten are by champion sires Redoute?s Choice, Flying Spur, Lonhro and Encosta de Lago; nine are by proven Group 1 sires Charge Forward, Snitzel, Starcraft & High Chaparral; and Arrowfield?s first season sires All American and Manhattan Rain are represented by 15 lots.

Arrowfield?s Bloodstock Manager Jon Freyer says, ?Our 2013 Easter Sale yearlings are as good as any I have seen Arrowfield and Bellerive present in the past 15 years ? a period when buyers have also found Miss Finland, Forensics, Mentality and Inspiration in our Easter drafts.

?A notable aspect of this year?s group is that almost a third of them are the first or second foals of their dams. That reflects the substantial investment that Arrowfield and our clients have made in high quality young mares over the past few years.?
