Who is this famous Arrowfield yearling?

Arrowfield’s Operations Manager Sam Fairgray knows this filly better than just about anyone else and he shares his memories of her as a yearling on the new Arrowfield Blog launched this week at: http://arrowfieldblog.com.au

As John Messara says, “From the outside, a stud farm can appear to be a parallel world that is not always easy to enter or understand. So we want to open the doors on the daily and seasonal routines of a thoroughbred stud and the people who play key roles in Arrowfield’s success.”

In other posts Yearling Manager Denis Griffin describes the early progress of Arrowfield’s Magic Millions draft and their inspection by Gai Waterhouse. Several other staff will contribute to the blog in coming weeks including Jo Monehan and Brian Gorman from Arrowfield’s sister farm Bellerive Stud and Bloodstock Manager Jon Freyer.

With five stakes-winning graduates this spring alone, and more than 60 stakes performers since 2007, the Arrowfield and Bellerive drafts will be popular viewing for buyers at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale. Multiple Group winner Snitzerland, stakes-winning fillies Urban Groove & Members Joy, 3YO Lunar Rise (VRC Carbine Club S. G3) and 2YO Group-placed stakeswinner Crack A Roadie were all purchased from Bellerive & Arrowfield consignments over the past two years. So were the recent stakes performers Moreau (3rd, Moonee Valley Fillies Classic G2), and 2YOs Rockford, Choice Snitzel & Zaragoza.

The two farms will present 44 yearlings at the 2013 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale including nine and eight respectively from the first crops of Group 1 winners All American & Manhattan Rain.
