New 2YO stakeswinner for Not A Single Doubt

Neither inexperience nor a pre-race delay upset Cheyenne Warrior who became Not A Single Doubt ‘s 8th stakeswinner in tonight’s $100,000 TTC Gold Sovereign S. 1200m LR.

Drawn widest in the nine-horse field, the 2YO gelding was driven hard out of the gate to take up the lead. He settled kindly and set a good pace round the turn, then picked it up and headed for the line in generous fashion.

Cheyenne Warrior didn’t flinch as the challenges came and won narrowly, but well from Kenjorwood and Kencara Miss.

It was his second win following his successful debut at Sandown three weeks ago and took his earnings to just under his $80,000 purchase price at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

Bred & sold by Steve Tregea’s Windemere Farm from Miss Argyle (by Iglesia) Cheyenne Warrior is raced by Mr K.H. Neo and trained by Anthony Freedman. He is Not A Single Doubt’s fourth 2YO stakeswinner after Squamosa, Karuta Queen and Single Spice.

Not A Single Doubt now has five Australian juvenile winners on the board this season, following the debut win of Substation at Doomben today. Purchased by Brisbane Bloodstock as a weanling in 2010, Substation is from the Arrowfield mare Princess Shorna (by Last Tycoon), dam of 7 winners including stakeswinner Hidden Wonder and Group-placed winner Strong Choice.

Substation and Cheyenne Warrior are bred on a similar pattern, as Princess Shorna is by Last Tycoon, also the sire of Iglesia. Not A Single Doubt’s sire Redoute’s Choice has a well-known affinity with daughters of Last Tycoon, a combination that has produced 7 stakeswinners from 39 foals, including G1 Dariana, G2 Master of Design, G2 Drumbeats and G3 Shaaheq.

Seventeen yearlings by Not A Single Doubt will be offered at next week’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, among them Bellerive Stud’s colt from the winning Canny Lad mare Time to Move. View the Bellerive Stud draft here.
