Timeform rates Squamosa & Doubtful Jack
The quality of Not a Single Doubt’s two outstanding Australian stakeswinners 3YO Squamosa and 4YO Doubtful Jack, pictured right, was assessed recently by Gary Crispe of Racing & Sports who applies the authoritative Timeform rating system to Australian racing. Gary’s comments about these two horses follow:
Squamosa is a very smart young galloper who took his Timeform rating from 94 on debut to 119 in the Group 1 Golden Rose. We have been impressed with this fellow right from his first race start where he rated above average. All his subsequent runs have been high merit performances characterised by a great turn of foot and backed up by strong Timefigures and race standard analysis. With age and further maturity Squamosa has more to give. A serious Group 1 performer in the New Year.
Doubtful Jack began this campaign with a Timeform rating of 102. His best winter effort was in the VRC Winter Championship final 1600m G3 win where he rated 116+, annihilating his opposition. He similarly demolished a Group 3 sprint field in the Bobbie Lewis down the straight 1200 metres at Flemington taking his rating to 122p, with the promise of more to come.
These are clearly two very exciting types.
Not a Single Doubt, a brilliantly fast stakes-winning son of champion sire Redoute’s Choice from the famous Easy Date family, stands at Arrowfield at a fee of $13,750 (inc. GST) and his 2010 book is now full.
