Not A Single Doubt’s 80th stakeswinner

Go Bloodstock’s home-bred Thalassophile is the 80th stakeswinner for much-missed leading sire Not A Single Doubt after a determined victory in the $200,000 ATC Aspiration Quality 1600m G3 at Randwick.

It was a well-deserved result for the 4YO mare (ex Spanish Lake by Encosta de Lago) who has won or placed in 13 of her 19 starts from the Chris Waller stable and now boasts prizemoney close to $500,000.

Thalassophile also delivered a handy update to the pedigree of Arrowfield’s Lot 217 at Inglis Easter, the Dundeel colt out of Maracaibo (by Redoute’s Choice), Thalassophile’s Group-placed three-quarter sister.

They all descend from Calvinia, the dam of Group 1 winner Calveen and three other stakeswinners, whose daughters are proving notably successful at stud.

The exceptional quality of Not A Single Doubt’s final few crops offsets his diminishing number of runners. 2YOs Cafe Millenium & Portorosa and 3YO Lomandra are among those capable of burnishing the remarkable record that led buyers to pay an average $550,000 for his last yearlings in 2021 & 2022.

Not A Single Doubt is represented as a damsire by nine Inglis Easter 2023  yearlings, among them the Dundeel filly out of Group 1 winner Qafila.
