Hobartville Stakes

The charismatic bay colt (ex Back Pass by Quest for Fame) was a $200,000 Paul Messara purchase from the Broadwater Thoroughbreds draft at the 2013 Inglis Easter Sale and is raced by his breeder Jonathan Munz’s Pinecliff Racing in partnership with Arrowfield.

Scissor Kick and his stakes-winning brother Sharkbite are grandsons of a half-sister to the great broodmare Hasili (dam of four Group 1 winners by Danehill), Arrive (dam of Danehill’s champion daughter Promising Lead) and Dissemble (dam of Animal Kingdom’s sire Leroidesanimaux).

Back Pass died in 2014 but has a 2YO daughter, cleverly named Rebound, in training with Lee & Anthony Freedman, and a yearling colt by High Chaparral catalogued for April’s Inglis Easter Sale.

Raced by Arrowfield and Wayne Cadman, Panzer Division was bred by Brent & Judy Hudson from the Hussonet mare Desert Fight, a dual Group 1 winner and Champion 2YO Filly in Chile, and he was purchased for $120,000 by Paul Messara at the 2013 Inglis Easter Sale. Desert Fight has a 2YO sister to Panzer Division and returns to Redoute’s Choice this Spring.

Hampton Court is the first foal of Canadian stakeswinner Roses ‘N’ Wine (by Broken Vow), from the family of champion Makybe Diva and Group 2 winner Musket (also by Redoute’s Choice).

Purchased for $500,000 by John Warren Bloodstock  from the Milburn Creek draft at the 2013 Inglis Easter Sale, he is raced by a group of owners that includes the Muirs, James Packer and Sydney broadcaster Alan Jones.

Hampton Court won his third start as a 2YO, ran fourth in Bachman’s Schweppervescence H. G3 and progressed steadily to his first black type success in last weekend’s ATC Dulcify Quality H. LR. His record now reads three wins and more than $360,000 from 9 starts.

Hampton Court is the fourth Group 1 winner bred by Milburn Creek, after Redoute’s Dancer (also by Redoute’s Choice), Sizzling (by Snitzel) and Once Were Wild (by Johannesburg). The Muirs also enjoyed Group 1 success as owners of the grand mare Secret Admirer (2010 ATC Flight S. G1 & 2011 ATC Epsom H. G1).

Roses ‘N’ Wine has a yearling colt by Snitzel and is foaling again to him this Spring.
