Dundeel’s 19th stakeswinner
Dundeel’s son Truly Inspired gave Bob & Sandra Peters’ chance of an 11th Perth Cup a welcome boost when he scored a dramatic last-stride victory in last Saturday’s $125,000 ATA S. 2200m LR at Ascot.
He is the 19th career stakeswinner for Dundeel and one of 10 stakes performers posted this year by the son of High Chaparral, currently 15th on the Australian General Sires’ Premiership with almost $5 million prizemoney. His 55 domestic winners this season also include promising 3YO Dunkel, who scored his second win from 3 starts at Sandown on Monday.

Bob Peters said after Truly Inspired’s win, “It’s nice to see him there [in the Cup]. I think he’s ready alright and the distance will suit him.”
The $500,000 Perth Cup G2 heads the Australian stakes program on New Year’s Day.
Truly Inspired is the third Arrowfield-sired stakeswinner left by the wonderful broodmare Truly Special (by Jeune), after his Group 1-winning full brother Truly Great and Not A Single Doubt filly Special Alert (WA Oaks G3). A regular visitor to Arrowfield, Truly Special has two fillies and two colts by Dundeel yet to race.
The 18 Dundeel yearlings catalogued for Magic Millions 2023 include 4 lots offered by Arrowfield: colts out of Group 1 winner Politeness, a half-sister to Champion Filly Alboran Sea & a sister to Group winner Ranier; plus a grand-daughter of US Grade 2 winner Cat By The Tale.
Photographs & videos of Arrowfield’s Magic Millions yearlings are online here, and the draft will begin parading at the Gold Coast from 8:00 am on Wednesday 4 January.
