Changing Colours wins G2 Stocks Stakes

Major results kept coming for the Arrowfield roster & graduates at Caulfield on Sunday, thanks to The Autumn Sun’s splendid daughter Changing Colours and new graduate stakeswinner Regal Ambition. 

From The Autumn Sun’s first crop, Changing Colours became his 12th individual stakeswinner – and his 3rd in the the first 8 weeks of this season – in the $300,000 MVRC Stocks S. 1600m G2. 

Thirty-eight Arrowfield graduates have notched up 39 wins, including 7 Group & Listed races, in September alone, and Arrowfield stallions Snitzel (2nd), The Autumn Sun (3rd) & Maurice (4th) are making an early impact on the 2026/27 Australian General Sires’ Premiership.

Changing Colours delivered a milestone first Group success for Cranbourne trainer Lucy Yeomans, who said, “It’s incredible. These are the things you dream about and we get out of bed for a horse like this.”

Bred by Bill Pearce’s Bromfield Park, Changing Colours is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Nettoyer and four other winners left by Arrowfield-bred matron Cleanup (by Dehere). She was offered by Vinery Stud at Magic Millions where Brae Sokolski’s YES Bloodstock and Mathew Becker’s Group 1 Bloodstock purchased her for $400,000.

With 7 wins, Group 2-winning status and $635,000 prizemoney on her CV, Changing Colours will now target Spring Carnival Group 1 races, possibly including the Toorak Handicap and Empire Rose Stakes.

Earlier on the Caulfield card, 3YO filly Regal Ambition added a third stakes win to Arrowfield graduates’ record across the weekend with a top-notch performance in the $175,000 MVRC Jim Moloney S. 1440m LR at her third start for Ben, Will & JD Hayes.

Ben Hayes said, “She couldn’t have been more impressive…for her to do that second-up was a huge effort, so super-exciting times and full steam ahead to the Thousand Guineas.”

By Kingman’s champion son Palace Pier out of Dame Pattie (by Snitzel from Champion 3YO Filly Alinghi), Regal Ambition was bred by Arrowfield with Belford Productions & Planette Thoroughbred and purchased for $230,000 from the Stud’s Magic Millions 2025 draft by The Racing League & Lindsay Park Racing. Dame Pattie has a yearling filly by Dundeel, and foals to him again this Spring.
