Arrowfield stallions & graduates won three Australian Group 1 races in October 2024, and have already matched that figure in the first 11 days of October this year, thanks to Autumn Glow & Autumn Boy (by The Autumn Sun), and Snitzel’s son Transatlantic, heroic winner of Saturday’s $1 million MRC Toorak H. 1600m G1.
The front-running 5YO gave Eagle Farm trainer Tony Gollan his second Toorak after Antino’s 2024 win, and added a premier racing trophy to the NRL, AFL and NRL Women’s titles that have already gone north to Queensland this Spring.
The Toorak is the 8th black type success added to Snitzel’s extraordinary record since his death in June, and Transatlantic is his 25th individual Group 1 winner.
TRANSATLANTIC ❤️💛

Jockey Mark Zahra said, “I knew I had a really nice time in front, and when I kicked I knew I kicked good…he showed good fight the last fifty to dig in and win.”
Bred by Go Bloodstock Australia, Transatlantic is the second foal of the 2015 Australian Oaks G1 winner Gust Of Wind (by Darci Brahma) and the 4th stakeswinner from 63 runners by Snitzel out of mares by Danehill sons.
Offered at Inglis Easter 2022 by Segenhoe Thoroughbreds which took up a share in him after his $360,000 sale to Gollan Racing, Harbour Equine and John Foote Bloodstock, he has now won 7 races, included a Listed Race during the Winter, and his earnings exceed $1.3 million.
Gust Of Wind, the last horse to defeat Winx before her 33-race winning streak, has a 4YO daughter Sensational Wind (by I Am Invincible) who visits Dundeel this season, a 2YO colt by Stay Inside and a yearling filly by Dundeel.
Arrowfield celebrated two other black type successes on Saturday, one at Caulfield and one at Eagle Farm. Farm graduate, dual Group 1 winner, 2022 Everest victor and $13 million earner Giga Kick (Scissor Kick-Rekindled Applause by Royal Applause) made a brilliant return in the MRC Schillaci S. 1100m G2 for owner & breeder Jonathan Munz and trainer Clayton Douglas.

Dundeel’s son Tavs (ex Quattro Foglie by Beneteau) added the BRC Tattersalls Members Cup 1400m LR to his Weetwood Quality LR win at Toowoomba on 27 September.
Bred & originally raced in Sydney by Ottavio & Wendy Galletta, Tavs is out of the Beneteau mare Quattro Foglie and since his sale last Spring he has won 5 races in Queensland for a large group of new owners and trainer Mark Currie.
“Go Tavs!” 🥳
