A Glowing year for Arrowfield stallions & graduates

Arrowfield’s five stallions with runners, including Australia’s Champion Sire & Champion Sire of 2YOs Snitzel, made every post a winner in 2025/26, generating impressive worldwide figures on every key metric:

They and their progeny appear in almost every ranking, table or analysis of the Australian season’s best performers.

Snitzel won his 6th Australian 2YO Sires’ title & his 5th Australian General Sires’ Premiership, and was joined by The Autumn Sun (3rd) and Dundeel (13th) in the leading group, while Castelvecchio finished 4th on the Third Season Sires’ list behind Too Darn Hot, Blue Point & Alabama Express, all with larger representation than his 105 runners.

The Autumn Sun made the top 5 on the 3YO Sires’ list, with fewer runners than his rivals, thanks to double Group 1 Guineas winner Autumn Boy, Group winners Autumn Break & Autumn Mystery and multiple Group 1-placed filly After Summer.  

Snitzel also topped both the Australian Stallions Premiership & the Australian 2YO Stallions Premiership based on a points system for domestic stakes results compiled by Breeding & Racing.

Snitzel, The Autumn Sun, Castelvecchio & Dundeel have 7 horses among the season’s best performers on the authoritative Australian Timeform Ratings prepared by Racing & Sports: 2YOs Campione D’Italia & Fireball, 3YO Autumn Boy and 4YOs Autumn Glow, Aeliana, Idle Flyer & Lady Shenandoah. Maurice’s son Cosmic Crusader earned a RAS rating of 120 when he won the Northerly S. G1 in Perth last December, and has already posted 119 at his first run in Melbourne, winning the Bletchingly S. G3 by 2.5 lengths.

The Autumn Sun’s superstar daughter Autumn Glow shares the Australian season’s highest Timeform figure of 128 with world champion Ka Ying Rising. It’s a figure that has been bettered by only four mares, Black Caviar (136), Winx (134), Makybe Diva & Sunline (both 129), in the 26-year history of Timeform’s Australian assessments.

At the end of her Autumn campaign, Autumn Glow was rated the world’s best female on IFHA’s LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings with a figure of 120. Even at season-end, she remained in the top 12 on the TRC Global Rankings, with Kalpana & Diamond Necklance the only females ranked above her. 

Nine Arrowfield sale graduates have contributed 14 stakes wins to the roster’s record in 2025/26, headed by Group 1 winners Baraqiel (Moir Stakes plus a Listed win) & Lazzura (Coolmore Classic & two other Group wins) and Group winners Origin Of Love, Verona Rose, Autumn Break, Beadman & St Gotthard.

Group 1 winner Giga Kick and Group winners Invincible Papa (in Japan), Roselyn’s Star, Scheelite & Skyhook, all by former Arrowfield sires, rounded out the Stud’s season tally of 22 graduate stakes victories.

A further 20 Arrowfield graduates posted 30 stakes placings during the season, 8 of them at Group 1 level. Just-turned 4YO mare After Summer (by The Autumn Sun) and 3YO colt Cormier (by Maurice) are among those set to return to elite company this Spring.
