27th stakeswinner for Not A Single Doubt

Not A Single Doubt has added two new winners, including his 27th stakeswinner, to his imposing record as a sire of juveniles.

Jackson continued a tremendous run of success by trainer Tony McEvoy when he powered home on debut in Saturday’s $120,000 MRC Merson Cooper S. 1000m LR at Sandown.  Soviet Secret and Emphatically (also by Not A Single Doubt) filled the placings.  The $500,000 Inglis Nursery (R) LR at Randwick on 12 December will be the gelding’s next target.

Watch Jackson win the MRC Merson Cooper S. LR.

McEvoy said of Jackson, “He’s a big gangly sort of gelding, he gets run off his feet early by some of my other babies at home, but when they hit the hill at Kildalton Park he’s the one that just powers up it. He’s got a lot of scope, big stride and he will improve a good bit.”

The stakes victory is a well-deserved reward for NSW breeder Fred Moses’ staunch support of Not A Single Doubt who has seen Jackson’s dam Elegant Angela (by Perugino) five times for four foals, three of them winners.

Jackson attracted the highest bid as a yearling, being knocked down to McEvoy Mitchell Racing for $76,000 at this year’s Inglis Classic Sale where he was offered by Ambergate Farm.

Elegant Angela, a city-winning 2YO, is out of a Sir Tristram half-sister to Group 2 winner Kenfair, from the family of champion sire Marscay, champion 3YO filly Alacrity and Melbourne Cup winner Subzero.

Less than thirty minutes before Jackson’s win, another member of Not A Single Doubt’s 2013 crop, Faraway Town (ex London Calling by Dehere) scored a narrow maiden win at Rosehill. Her trainer Matthew Smith confirmed after the race that the filly will head to January’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (R) LR.

Faraway Town was bought for $200,000 by Mystery Downs from Andrew & Georgie Ferguson’s Bell River Thoroughbreds draft at this year’s Magic Millions Sale.

Not A Single Doubt is enjoying a tremendous Spring in Australia with 57 winners, four of them stakeswinners (Secret Agenda, Fell Swoop, Don’t Doubt Mamma & Jackson), and more than $2.4 million prizemoney.

The son of Redoute’s Choice has 32 lots catalogued for the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, including a filly in the Arrowfield draft, and a filly & a colt in the Bell River consignment.
