Everest Three-Peat in Sight for Redzel

Redzel may not have been in the winner’s circle since his last Everest victory, but that didn’t stop the incredible seven-year-old son of Snitzel from returning with a bang to land his third consecutive win in the Group 3 Concorde Stakes at Randwick.
A leader all the way for jockey Kerrin McEvoy, Redzel defeated a fast finishing Pierata by a long-head and put a third Everest contention back in sight.

After failing to find form in Autumn, Peter and Paul Snowden were thrilled with his performance, with Paul highlighting the geldings notable return of enthusiasm for racing.
“You sort of can’t hide the excitement we have in the morning by the way he is going.”
“It is all about getting him back to where he was, he doesn’t need to be better, he just needs to be back to where he was, and I feel like we have him there.”
“We have a goal and have we to get there. It only gets harder from now on, but he loves the stable life, he thrives on it and he is just looking in very good order.”
Whilst there hasn’t been a commitment from winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy to Redzel for a potential third straight Everest, he was happy to see him back in the winner’s circle.
“It’s great to see him back. He had his doubters after last preparation,” McEvoy said.
” Last prep a few things went wrong but Peter and Paul put him away and started again.”
“There’s every chance that he is going to be a force to be reckoned with through this preparation.”
In what has been an incredible ride for connections, Redzel has now taken his earnings to a massive $15,644,000, including 15 wins, 8 seconds and 1 third from 34 starts, which includes two Group 1 wins and two consecutive The Everest victories.
Whilst punters have taken caution post his Autumn form, Redzel’s latest win puts him firmly back in the Everest picture with some bookmakers elevating him to equal second favourite for the $14 million race set to run on 19th October.
