Redoute's Choice posts 95th stakeswinner
Redoute’s Choice took another step towards a century of stakeswinners when Bob & Sandra Peters’ home-bred filly Antique Belle flew home in today’s WATC Burgess Queen S. 1400m LR in Perth.
The 3YO filly is the 95th stakeswinner by Arrowfield’s champion sire, and the seventh stakeswinner from his 2009 crop. Today’s win was her second from four starts and she will have an opportunity to improve her record further in the $200,000 Champion Fillies S. G2 on 17 November.
Antique Belle is fourth of five fillies her dam Antique (by Metal Storm) has left to Redoute’s Choice, and is preceded by Broadway Belle (5 wins inc. WATC Jungle Dawn Classic LR), and multiple city winners Arcadia & Antique Rose.
Their dam, a two-time winner and third to Bulla Borghese and Lashed in the 2002 VRC Oaks G1, is a sister to Group 2 winner Kalatiara and dual stakeswinner Kentiara, from the family of Kenvain, Take Your Partner, Rigoletto & Imperial Baron.
Antique has a yearling filly by Redoute’s Choice, and this year visits Snitzel.
With 95 stakeswinners (8.9 per cent) from 1071 named foals, Redoute’s Choice maintains his status as an elite sire at the top of his game, alongside Zabeel (8.7 per cent SW/named foals) and – in case you’re wondering – ahead of Fastnet Rock (5.9 per cent SW/named foals).
