Charge Forward pair confirm promise

Two sons of Charge Forward confirmed their promise, and their race favouritism, by winning for their well-known owners at Kembla Grange yesterday.

Anthony Cummings presented Booked Out in the first race and he duly obliged, winning over 1000 metres by 1.25 lengths. The 3YO gelding was bred from the Zeditave mare Lucrative Dame by Charge Forward’s part-owner Peter Horwitz and is raced by the Horwitz family in partnership with Anthony Cummings Thoroughbreds and A.J. Rix.

Two races later 2YO gelding Almighty Charge (ex Redoute’s Fever by Redoute’s Choice), bred by Arrowfield in partnership with John Leaver & Alan Jones, prevailed by a short neck over 1400 metres. He is raced by a group of five owners including Greg and Donna Kolivos, now famous as the owners of champion 2YO Pierro.

Trainer Gai Waterhouse commented on Almighty Charge in today’s entry on her blog: “He’s always been a two year old who has shown promise…He will now head to the city and I’m sure he’ll be super competitive.”

Charge Forward, the sire of 15 stakes performers including Group 1 winners Response & Headway, stands in 2012 at a fee of $24,750 inc. GST.
