Bellerive graduate wins in South Africa
Australian-breds have enjoyed marked success in South Africa lately and Starcraft ‘s 3YO son Magnum Power added to that record with a good win over 1450 metres at Turffontein yesterday.

The chestnut gelding, bred by the Arrowfield/Jungle POcket partnership, was bought for $40,000 by Andy Williams’ World Wide Bloodstock from the Bellerive Stud draft at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He is yet another example of Starcraft’s liking for Danehill mares, as his dam Ribot’s Secret is a Group-placed Irish-bred daughter of the supersire. She has also left last season’s Australian winner Youeffoh to Starcraft and is foaling to Hussonet this spring.
Starcraft, last season’s leading Australasian 2nd season sire by stakeswinners, opened his Australian 2011/12 record when his Group 1-placed second-crop daughter Hallowell Belle scored at Seymour on Sunday.
Starcaft stands at Arrowfield Stud this spring at a fee of $44,000.
