Written Tycoon filly dominates Gimcrack Stakes
Written Tycoon’s spectacular Spring continued on a top-class Epsom Day at Randwick when his daughter Enthaar strode clear of her rivals to win the $160,000 ATC Gimcrack S. 1000m G3 by three lengths in 57.06.
It was a breath-taking performance, delivered with pricked ears and a touch of disdain, despite the effort of the Not A Single Doubt filly Mallory who burst through late to snatch second.

Not A Single Doubt increased his share of the day’s limelight as the damsire of both Enthaar and the impressive Arrowfield Breeders’ Plate G3 winner Shaquero (by Written Tycoon’s current barnmate Shalaa).
The pair now leads the early TAB betting for the 2021 Golden Slipper G1, with Enthaar opening at $17 on Saturday morning, then shortening to outright $7 favouritism.
Her jockey James McDonald confirmed what everyone saw in the Gimcrack. “I didn’t get anywhere near the bottom of her, she’s very exciting. It felt as good as it looked to be honest. She’s just a dream to ride.”
Golden Slipper success would not be new for Enthaar’s owner Emirates Park, which bred her out of the juvenile winner Final Agreement, an Arrowfield-bred sister to Group 1 winner Secret Agenda, descended from the marvellous matron Denise’s Joy. The Emirates Park green & white silks were also carried by Arrowfield graduate & 2018 Golden Slipper winner Estijaab.
Enthaar is Written Tycoon’s 37th lifetime stakeswinner and his 9th 2YO stakeswinner, a list that includes Champion 2YO Colts Capitalist (Golden Slipper), Written By (Blue Diamond) and New Zealand filly Luna Rossa (Manawatu Sires’ Produce).
In association with Woodside Park Stud, Written Tycoon stands at Arrowfield this year and heads the current General Sires’ Premiership with almost $3.1 million prizemoney and five stakeswinners, among them Group 1 winners Ole Kirk & Pippie.
