World Cup contender Animal Kingdom on his way to Dubai
Arrowfield’s latest stallion acquisition Animal Kingdom will arrive in Dubai on Wednesday night after completing his final workout at Palm Meadows, Florida where he has been preparing for the $US10 million Dubai World Cup G1 on Saturday 30 March.

The striking 5YO son of Leroidesanimaux pleased his trainer Graham Motion with a strong gallop in company, posting a time of 1.01.78 for the last 5 furlongs.
He said, “”I thought it was a great work, it was just what we did with him at Keeneland before he shipped to California for the Breeders’ Cup. He did it well within himself and it was really just what I wanted.””
Animal Kingdom was a sensational runner-up, at his first start for almost nine months, to US Horse of the Year Wise Dan in the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Mile G1 – rated second among the World’s Top 50 Group 1 races on the list released by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities earlier this week.
In his 10-start career Animal Kingdom has won or run second in three races on that list: the 2011 Kentucky Derby which he won, the Preakness Stakes and the Breeders’ Cup Mile.
He resumed this year with a fighting second to Point of Entry in the Gulfstream Park Turf H. G1 on 9 February, his last start in the United States before a global journey that will end at Arrowfield Stud later this year.
