Where diamonds are discovered

Forty years of exceptional history, and a Group 1-packed last 12 months.
That’s what Arrowfield, and many, many buyers, owners & trainers are celebrating in 2025.
Seven Group 1 victories in Sydney & Melbourne since March 2024 by Inglis Easter graduates Lady Shenandoah, Autumn Angel & Switzerland, plus Celestial Legend & Private Life, take Arrowfield’s four-decade tally of Group 1 wins to 156.
They’ve been compiled by 86 graduates, among them 29 Champions.
They include 7 winners of the Golden Slipper: Inglis Easter purchases Catbird, Estijaab, Forensics, Flying Spur & Miss Finland, and Belle Du Jour & Danzero.
Ten Arrowfield-bred-&-sold winners appear on the honour rolls of the other 4 Australian Group 1 2YO races, among them Tagaloa (Blue Diamond), Invader (Sires’ Produce), Castelvecchio (Champagne Stakes) & The Autumn Sun (JJ Atkins).
The Stud has a similar record of success in Australia’s Group 1 3YO contests, with 18 of 19 ticked off, and several won more than once, including the Caulfield, Randwick & Thousand Guineas, Victoria & Australian Derbys, Australian Oaks, Spring Champion, Flight & Surround Stakes.
Among them are all 5 of Arrowfield’s latest Group 1-winning graduates, headed by Surround & Flight Stakes winner Lady Shenandoah, Australian Oaks winner Autumn Angel and Switzerland, dominant winner of the world’s top-rated 3YO sprint race of 2024, the Coolmore Stud Stakes.
19 of Australia’s major sprints also feature on Arrowfield’s four-decade alumni record, thanks to the likes of World Champion Sprinter & Horse of the Year Lankan Rupee (T.J. Smith, Newmarket, Oakleigh, Lightning & Manikato), Alverta (Coolmore Classic), Sweet Idea (Galaxy), Snitzerland (Lightning), Alabama Express (C.F. Orr) and Champion Sprinters Giga Kick, Hareeba & Primacy.
There are 24 offshore victories on Arrowfield’s Group 1 graduate record too, featuring horses such as Charming City (Hong Kong Champion Sprinter), Stepitup (Singapore Horse of the Year), Majmu & Mustaaqeem (South African Champion 2YOs) and San Luis (New Zealand Champion 2YO Colt).
And then there is Weekend Hussler, the winner of 6 Group 1 races in a single season: the Oakleigh & Newmarket, the Coolmore Stud Stakes, the Caulfield & Randwick Guineas and the George Ryder.
Weekend Hussler remains Australia’s only 3YO Horse of the Year since Octagonal in 1996.
This glittering history and Arrowfield’s spectacular current season point firmly at a future full of diamonds – for those Inglis Easter buyers who come to the diamond mine at the Big Barn & Barn B!
