Universal Bolt boosts sale graduate record

Universal Bolt‘s strong debut win at Morphettville today made him the fourth winning graduate of the Arrowfield/Bellerive drafts at last year’s Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale.

The son of Charge Forward follows stakes-placed winner Hollyweird, and winners Hot Snitzel and Saramenha, all by Snitzel. A fifth graduate, Hallowell Belle by Arrowfield’s Starcraft , and sold by Three Bridges Thoroughbreds, was the runner-up in today’s MRC Blue Diamond S. G1.

Purchased for $40,000 by McDonald Racing, Universal Bolt is the first winner from Charge Forward’s third crop. He is trained by Mark Minervini for owners Anthony Coops, Chris Counihan, Aaron Doran, Paul Graham, Michael Harrak, Russell Jones, Alex Kauye, Chris Lester, John Rigoni, David Schiavello, Mark Schiavello, Dominic Smith, Simon Wallace and David Willis.

Universal Bolt opened a fine series of results for Charge Forward, who also supplied the runner-up at Morphettville, Draw Forward (ex Lashante by Danehill Dancer), and Simply Put (Group 3-placed at Caulfield), as well as Response and Solar Charged who both ran bravely just behind the placegetters in the MRC Oakleigh Plate G1.
