Tri-nation success for Snitzel

Four new winners in three countries in 8 days have kept the spotlight on Arrowfield’s exciting 2nd season sire,

Snitzel .

His 3YO son Ace Allotroped (ex Zsabelle by Zabeel) won a $S65,000 maiden over 1200 metres in Singapore this afternoon for trainer Michael Freedman and owners The Allotrope Stable. Bred by Gary Pemberton, he was a $50,000 purchase from the 2009 Magic Millions Sale.

Meanwhile, a pair of fillies have taken Snitzel’s tally of first-crop 2YO winners in Japan to five, including the Group-placed Rurinigana. The filly Oguri Aries (ex Silk Aquarius by Admire Vega) won over 1400 metres at Kanazawa on Friday 3 September; and today, another filly, Pharma Cream (ex Aube Supreme by Sakura Bakushin O) took out a 1200-metre 2YO Maiden event by 3.5 lengths at Sapporo.

These international performances followed a maiden win by 3YO gelding Zelaating (ex Donating by Octagonal) at Newcastle last Sunday. He and Ace Allotroped take Snitzel’s tally of first-crop Australian-bred winners to 12.

Himself a precocious 2YO who trained on to outstanding Group 1-winning form at three, Snitzel was second on the 2009/10 Australian 1st Season Sires’ list. He stands at Arrowfield in 2010 at a fee of $27,500 (inc. GST).
