The start of something BIG…
Champion 2YO Vandeek, who joined Arrowfield’s roster in 2025, has received an outstanding launch in the UK where he stands at the renowned Cheveley Park Stud at a 2026 fee of £15,000.
The handsome son of Havana Grey, now the sire of 29 stakeswinners, covered more than 160 mares in his first Northern Hemisphere book, including 21 stakeswinners, 10 stakes producers and 18 siblings to Group 1 winners.
Thirteen mares sold in foal to Vandeek averaged £81,800, with a top price of 180,000 guineas paid at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale by Lofts Hall Stud for Cheveley Park’s young mare Prevail (by Galileo’s son Ulysses, from the family of Group 1 winners Camille Pissarro & Golden Horde).

Vandeek’s pedigree was significantly boosted in 2025 by his half-brother Gstaad (by Starspangledbanner from the Danehill sire-line), who won the Royal Ascot Coventry S. G2 at his second start, before close seconds in three Group 1 races in France, Ireland & England. He ended his 2YO year with a superb victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf G1 and the Cartier Champion 2YO Colt title, and is one of Coolmore’s brightest Classic prospects in 2026.
Vandeek covered a full book of 151 mares at Arrowfield in 2025, and his first Australian foals will arrive this coming Spring.
