The Soaring Ambition of Not A Single Doubt
The 79th stakeswinner by the stallion who rose to brilliant success & fan favouritism from six seasons on the bottom rung of Arrowfield’s roster could not be better named than Soaring Ambition.
The 2YO filly with the big name produced a startling debut performance in Wednesday’s $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic 1100m RL to round up her rivals and win despite being carried very wide on the home turn.

Trainer Annabel Neasham said, “She is such a gutsy filly, I’ve always had a lot of time for her. She is obviously very talented because not everything went her way and she still got the job done.”
Soaring Ambition, a $270,000 purchase by Zhongli Thoroughbreds from Arrowfield’s 2021 Magic Millions draft, is now second favourite for next month’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic RL.
She is Arrowfield’s 5th Magic Millions graduate stakeswinner this Spring, after Group 1-winning colts Hitotsu & Profondo, Group 3 winner Flying Evelyn and Listed winner Bend The Knee.
Her dam Tango (by Starcraft) is an unraced sister of Group 3 winner Lunar Rise (now Troop Horse Martin with the NSW Mounted Police) and half-sister of two other stakes performers. This is the family of European Horse of the Year Peintre Celebre among a host of stakeswinners descended from Petroleuse.
Soaring Ambition is the third of Tango’s four foals to race and win, and the mare is now in foal to Castelvecchio after foaling a filly by him in August.
Starcraft mares are working particularly well with Redoute’s Choice sons, a combination that has produced six stakeswinners from 25 runners, including Group 1 winner Instant Celebrity and 2YO Group winner Stronger as well as Soaring Ambition.
There’s just one yearling bred on the same cross at Magic Millions 2022: that’s Lot 930, Arrowfield’s Snitzel-Dream Date colt.
As for Not A Single Doubt, the sire of 8 Magic Millions race winners around Australia, he is represented by 9 fillies and 6 colts from his 37-foal final crop, including two fillies and two colts in the Arrowfield consignment.
