Five first-crop foals by The Autumn Sun sold at last week’s record-breaking Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, achieving an average price of $212,000.

That result is more than twice the average for the Sale, and put the 5-time Group 1 winner on top of the First Season Sires’ table, ahead of Justify & Trapeze Artist.

The Autumn Sun’s top price of $360,000 was paid by James Harron and the UK-based Redwall Syndicate for the elegant filly out of Kennocha, a multiple city-winning daughter of Lonhro. The filly was offered by Cameron & Kellie Bond’s boutique farm Kenmore Lodge, on the Darling Downs of Queensland.

Attunga Stud sold the filly out of Group 2 winner Tsaritsa (by Dane Shadow) to Bahen Bloodstock for $300,000, while Newgate’s half-sister to stakeswinner Fundamentalist (Randwick Guineas runner-up to The Autumn Sun) was bought $200,000 by Belmont Bloodstock & Dorrington Farm.

Arrowfield paid $120,000 for the fourth The Autumn Sun filly, out of US stakeswinner Blueberry Smoothie (by Giant’s Causeway), and RIFA Mustang’s bid of $80,000 secured Newgate’s colt out of Real Stolle.

Four mares in foal to The Autumn Sun will be offered at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale which begins today: Lot 887, Mannya; Lot 902, Midtown; Lot 1210, Collectively; and Lot 1223, Dawned.
