Teeley weanlings gross $2.9 million

Three of the top four prices at Sunday’s Magic Millions National Weanling Sale were paid for weanlings from the Teeley Assets Reduction draft presented by Arrowfield Stud.

All three are descendants of the celebrated blue hen Shantha’s Choice, dam of Arrowfield residents champion sire Redoute’s Choice and his half-brother, first crop sire Manhattan Rain.

$600,000 was paid by Stonestreet Stables & Coolmore Stud for the Fastnet Rock colt from Your Life Style (Hussonet-Monsoon Wedding), a half-sister to Group 3 winner Precious Lorraine.

Arrowfield paid the second top price of $425,000 for Precious Lorraine’s Stratum filly, and picked up a second member of this celebrated family, the filly by Sepoy from Unspoken Choice (Giant’s Causeway-Shantha’s Choice), for $125,000.

New Zealand buyer Jamieson Park secured the Stratum filly from Quench The Thirst, a full sister to Precious Lorraine, for $400,000.

Baramul Stud paid $230,000 for the Redoute’s Choice filly from Fritz’s Princess, and the Manhattan Rain colt from Lankan Rupee’s sister Charming Estelle was knocked down to the RMB Trust for $130,000.

In all, the 28 Teeley weanlings sold for a total of $2,948,500 – an average price of $105,000.
