Strong Magic Millions start by Arrowfield & Bellerive

After two days of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, all but one of the 17 lots offered by Arrowfield & Bellerive Studs have found new homes.

Top price so far for Arrowfield is the $400,000 paid for the powerful Snitzel-Miss Kournikova filly by trainer Dan Bougoure, bidding on behalf of owner Steve Gillard.

Bellerive’s best result is the $160,000 achieved for the Stratum-Weekend Gossip colt, sold on Thrsday afternoon to Perth trainer Dion Luciani.

Demand for the first yearlings by All American and Manhattan Rain has been strong, with both stallions posting sale-best figures on Thursday afternoon.

Arrowfield’s muscular colt by All American from Ain’t Seen Nothin’ was knocked down at $180,000 to Gerald Ryan, bidding for Jadeskye Racing.

Ron Gilbert at Highgrove Stud was delighted with the $260,000 paid by George Moore Bloodstock for the Manhattan Rain-Valadon colt, a half-brother to Magic Millions 2YO Classic contender Global Dream.

The progeny of the other members of the Arrowfield stallion roster are also finding favour with buyers, with the following top prices on the board after two days:

Flying Spur-Moorea filly, $250,000 – sold by Amarina Farm to Gai Waterhouse & James Harron Bloodstock

Not A Single Doubt-Montecatini colt, $170,000 – sold by Widden Stud to Star Thoroughbreds

Not A Single Doubt-Queen’s College colt, $170,000 – sold by Musk Creek Farm to Gardiner Bloodstock

Redoute’s Choice-Velocitea colt, $320,000 – sold by Glastonbury Farms to Arrowfield Training Centre

Redoute’s Choice-She’s A Meanie filly, $250,000 – sold by Glenlogan Park to Arrowfield Padtoral Pty Ltd

Snitzel-Miss Kournikova filly, $400,000 – sold by Arrowfield to Dan Bougoure

Snitzel-Unison colt, $320,000 – sold by Newhaven Park to Gai Waterhouse & James Harron Bloodstock

Starcraft-Victory Cry filly, $320,000 – sold by Mill Park to BC3 Thoroughbreds

Arrowfield will offer four lots today, including a filly and two colts by Redoute’s Choice, and Bellerive has 3 lots on offer, including fillies by All American & Manhattan Rain.
