A quintet of Arrowfield-sired runners will seek to extend the Stud’s imposing Magic Millions race record when they line up in Saturday’s features at the Gold Coast.

Seven 2YO Classic winners and a pair of 3YO Guineas winners head Arrowfield’s list of 41 nationwide Magic Millions race winners, beginning with graduate St. Jude, who won the Classic in 1990.

More recently, Arrowfield stallions have sired the last three 2YO Classic winners: Shaquero (by Shalaa from a Not A Single Doubt mare) and Away Game & Exhilarates (both by Snitzel), while the Arrowfield-sold Sweet Idea (by Snitzel) & Mahuta (by Flying Spur) won the Guineas in 2014 & 2016.

The field for this year’s $2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic RL includes Cusack & Arrowfield graduate Soaring Ambition, both by Not A Single Doubt (sire of the 2011 winner Karuta Queen) and Snitzel’s daughter Snitcat plus 1st emergency Swiss Exile (by Pariah).

In addition, Mishani Spartan is out of a Flying Spur mare, and Not A Single Doubt is the damsire of Thelwell.

Snitzel’s sons Snitzonfire and Bend The Knee, already a Listed winner during Cup Week at Flemington, line up in the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas RL.

Trained by John O’Shea, Bend The Knee is raced by Carl Holt, George Kairouz and Finemore Thoroughbreds with his breeders Arrowfield & Katsumi Yoshida.

Snitzonfire and Classic favourite Coolangatta are both out of the Arrowfield-bred mare Piping Hot, a More Than Ready half-sister to Blue Diamond G1 winner Reaan.

Arrowfield stallions represented as damsires of Guineas runners are Not A Single Doubt (Miss Hipstar), Flying Spur (Me Me Lagarde) and Hussonet (Far Too Easy).
