Stakes double for Dundeel’s 3YO daughters

3YO fillies Cinch & Deel Her In have taken Dundeel’s lifetime record to 35 stakeswinners with equally impressive Listed victories in Launceston & Perth.

A couple of other points to note: The progeny of current Arrowfield stallions have so far won 24 Australian 3YO stakes races in the 2024/25 season.

And Dundeel’s last 10 new stakeswinners – all in the past 12 months – are evenly split between fillies (Konasana, Femminile, Jasmin Rouge, Cinch & Deel Her In) and colts (Celestial Legend, Epimeles, Tannhauser, Kingofwallstreet & Red Aces).

Cinch scored a commanding, 3-length victory in Friday evening’s $150,000 TTC Tasmanian Oaks 2100m LR at Launceston.

She has progressed rapidly over the Summer for Team Hayes, from placed efforts at Geelong & Pakenham to a dominant maiden win at Sale on 2 February that set her up as the favourite in Tasmania. She is nominated for the $1 million Australian Oaks G1 on 12 April.

A home-bred for Dr Ian Duckworth, Fairview Park Stud & Kianben Bloodstock who race her with SEN Giddy Up, Cinch is the 7th winner out of Eye For Fun (by Snitzel), already notable as the dam of Mossfun (Golden Slipper G1) & Champion Singapore Sprinter Aramco.

Snitzel now has 43 stakeswinners on his record as a broodmare sire, six of them at Group 1 level. The Dundeel/Snitzel cross has also produced dual Group 1 winner Celestial Legend, Group 3 winner Jasmin Rouge and 4 other city winners from only 17 runners.

Capping off an Arrowfield-flavoured evening in Tasmania, and aptly on a card featuring the fillies, was Isabella Swain’s Small Pony Race victory, bedecked in the Arrowfield black & yellow diamond silks & decorations, on her grey pony Jenny.

Deel Her In’s maiden stakes win in the $125,000 Perth Racing Challenge S. 1500m LR comes at her 4th start, only six weeks after her successful debut for her Belhus Racing owners & trainer Trevor Andrews.

Deel Her In is out of Mining Tycoon (by Redoute’s Choice), also the dam of dual Listed winner Usmanov and a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Bentley Biscuit. She was a $110,000 purchase by Belhus Racing & John Price Bloodstock from Segenhoe Stud at the Inglis Easter Sale.

Dundeel has 10 yearlings at the upcoming Inglis Premier Sale, a filly from a Snitzel mare at Magic Millions Adelaide and 10 lots at Inglis Easter including 4 colts and a filly offered by Arrowfield.
