Snitzel’s stakes record keeps growing

The relentless pace of Snitzel’s stakes success continues, with 10 Group & Listed victories added to his exceptional record since his death in June.

5YO gelding Yorkshire, winner of Saturday’s $250,000 ATC Festival S. 1500m G3 at Rosehill, is the latest of Snitzel’s 7 stakeswinners in that period and No. 163 in a career that won’t be completed for some time yet.

Diagnosed with cardiac arrythmia after being eased down in The Hunter at Newcastle a fortnight ago, Yorkshire bounced back in the care of John O’Shea, Tom Charlton and their team, and led from barrier rise, defeating Arctic Glamour & Melody Again.

Jockey Zac Lloyd said, “It was very important to jump like we did, especially when you’re on a horse that likes to gallop from barrier one. Executing is so important, and he did that today.

“Watching the replay, he stretched them right out, but it didn’t feel like that underneath me, he just felt like he was in a rhythm and when he does that he’s a very good horse.”

Yorkshire (ex Chanteline by Majesticperfection) was bred by S F Bloodstock and purchased for $575,000 by PR Funds from Newgate Farm at Inglis Easter. He has now returned most of that outlay with 7 wins from 10 starts and will be given his chance to add a large dollop of cream in the $2 million The Ingham G2 on 13 December.

A pair of exciting new Sydney winners, both also Inglis Easter graduates, rounded out Snitzel’s weekend.

The Arrowfield-bred-&-sold 3YO filly Caffe Florian (ex Madame Andree by War Emblem), a three-quarter sister to GW Anders & SW Ostraka, won her second start by two lengths at Canterbury on Friday evening for Ottavio & Wendy Galletta and trainer Richard Litt.

Arrowfield will offer Caffe Florian’s full sister as Lot 504 at Magic Millions 2026, and welcomed another full sister in October. Madame Andree has been served by The Autumn Sun.

And at Rosehill, the Chris Waller-trained 2YO colt Fireball (ex Advance Party by Charge Forward) scored a game debut win for the James Harron Bloodstock Colts Partnership that purchased him from Yarraman Park Stud & breeder Michael O’Keeffe.

Advance Party has a yearling filly by Dundeel catalogued as Lot 614 for Inglis Classic 2026, and foaled a Maurice filly this Spring.

Snitzel has 37 yearlings from his penultimate crop on offer at Magic Millions, including 7 fillies and 4 colts consigned by Arrowfield.
