Snitzel filly claims Tea Rose Stakes
Snitzel’s sensational Spring continued on Saturday when his 3YO daughter Four Moves Ahead won a stirring battle for the $200,000 ATC Tea Rose S. 1400m G2.
The stewards subsequently upheld a protest by jockey Jason Collett, and his mount, Arrowfield’s filly Mallory (by Not A Single Doubt) was placed second, with Swift Witness third.
Four Moves Ahead wins her second Group 2 in the Tea Rose Stakes.

Four Moves Ahead’s trainer John Sargent is looking forward to her next start. “She has a good turn of foot. You don’t need to take off too early at Randwick. I was very happy with that. It is good to see her back in form. Onwards and upwards from now.
“Two weeks to go to the Flight and that is the one we are after because it is a Group One.”
Bred & raced by Jonathan Munz, Four Moves Ahead won last season’s Sweet Embrace S. G2 before finishing fourth in the Golden Slipper G1, and opened her 3YO campaign with solid efforts in the Silver Shadow S. G2 and Furious S. G2.
She and her Group 3-winning sister Emeralds are the first foals of the unraced Aga Khan mare Doulmera (by Mr Greeley), from the celebrated family of European Horses of the Year Daylami & Dalakhani. Doulmera was bought by Dean Hawthorne for €180,000 at the 2014 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale.
Snitzel’s success with mares by Gone West’s sons Mr Greeley and Elusive Quality also includes 2YO Group winners Away Game & Oakleigh Girl and four other stakeswinners from only 31 runners.
Four Moves Ahead is Snitzel’s fifth stakeswinner in the first 7 weeks of 2021/22, following 3YO colts Bruckner, In The Congo & Mr Mozart and 5YO entire Splintex. Group 1 winner Sword Of State and Listed winner Royalzel are also members of Snitzel’s 2018 crop.
Snitzel leads the current Australian General Sires’ Premiership with just over $2 million prizemoney.
