Snitzel & dad sign off on stunning season

Arrowfield’s sensational father-and-son act, Redoute’s Choice and Snitzel , signed off on an outstanding 2011/12 season with three smart 3YO city winners between them on Saturday. Two of them were bred by the Arrowleave Joint Venture, Arrowfield’s partnership with long-time client & friend of the Stud, John Leaver.

Redoute’s Choice fillies She’s Clean and Bonaria scored handsome victories at Warwick Farm & Caulfield respectively, while Snitzel’s promising son I Get Around showed plenty of grit to post his fourth straight win and first city success.

Arrowleave-bred She’s Clean (ex Feather Duster by End Sweep) has now won 3 of her six starts for the Ingham family and is likely to step out in better company during the early spring. It’s been a good season for Feather Duster whose 2YO Snitzel colt Windswept was an impressive debut winner at Canterbury last month. Feather Duster has a rising 2YO sister to Windswept, a rising yearling filly by Flying Spur and is in foal to Not A Single Doubt .

Breeders Robert & Deborah Anderson race Bonaria (ex Decidity by Last Tycoon) who was also recording her third win and, like She’s Clean, took her earnings beyond the $100,000 mark.

I Get Around, bred by Arrowleave, is raced in partnership by trainer Paul Perry, who picked him up for $45,000 at the 2010 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale. His dam Sybarite, also by Last Tycoon, has subsequently produced a colt and a filly to Not A Single Doubt, and foals to Beneteau this spring.

Redoute’s Choice will end the 2011/12 Australian season with more than 130 winners, including 12 stakeswinners, and prizemoney of $8.6 million. Snitzel is his first son to join him in the top ten sires on the General list and is the leading 3rd crop sire with more than 60 winners, 6 stakeswinners and $5.7 million earnings.

Redoute’s Choice stands at a 2012 fee of $137,500 inc. GST, and Snitzel’s fee is $33,000 inc. GST.
