Snitzel books seats at Round Table

How many Snitzels are enough?

For Round Table Racing, recently announced as the principal syndicator for Gai Waterhouse, the answer is “More, please!”

Round Table Racing’s director Bruce Slade, working closely with Gai and agent James Harron, started bidding hard and early on Day 1 of the 2014 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

First to be knocked down to him was Lot 15, the Snitzel filly from Redeeming Lass, sold by Bell View Park Stud for $120,000. Bruce says, “This filly uses herself very well and is great quality. She looks all speed.”

The Waterhouse/Harron combination bid up next, securing Lot 34, Attunga Stud’s chestnut filly by Snitzel from Royal Babe, for $210,000.

Snitzel’s 18 stakeswinners are split exactly evenly between fillies and colts, so a pair of colts were sensibly added to the Round Table collection: Widden Stud’s “powerfully built” son of Seriously for $180,000, and Marquee Stud’s “absolutely cracking” colt from Triple Crown for $160,000.

This quartet helped to give Snitzel a strong start to the sale, with seven first day lots selling for an average of  $138,571. Australia’s current leading sire, with four acceptors in Saturday’s Magic Millions features, has another 24 yearlings heading to the Magic Millions ring, including four fillies offered by Arrowfield – click here to view them.
