Snitzanova wins Group 3 Spring Stakes
Bennett Racing owners celebrated their second Group victory this Spring with an Arrowfield graduate when Snitzel’s 3YO daughter Snitzanova won Saturday’s Newcastle JC Spring S. 1600m G3 at only her third start.
She is her Champion Sire’s 152nd stakeswinner and continues his spectacular run of Spring success in Australia. No other stallion has compiled more than his 10 winners of 12 Australian stakes races this season, including Group 1 wins by Lady Shenandoah & Switzerland.
That record is almost exactly matched by Arrowfield yearling sale graduates with a tally of 11 Group race wins since 1 August, including elite winners Private Life, Switzerland & Lady Shenandoah, and Bennett Racing’s brilliant Group 2 winner Baraqiel.
Add the Group 3 victories by Isthmus & Recommendation (not offered for sale), and Ostraka’s $1 million Silver Eagle win to make 14 major Arrowfield graduate successes in the first 108 days of 2024/25.

Ciaron Maher’s Sydney assistant trainer Johann Gerard-Dubord said after Snitzanova’s win, “She’s very lightly raced, she’s a well-bred filly, and great to get a win for Bennett Racing, they’re good supporters. She can travel a bit keenly, but she got into a nice rhythm and she was too tough late.”
Bred, like her stablemate Recommendation, by Stud clients Pacific King Pty Ltd, Snitzanova is the penultimate foal of Albanilla (by Galileo), from the deep European family of Champions Alborada, Alipinista, Albanova, Eldar Elbarov and many other notable performers. Albanilla’s final foal, a full sister to Snitzarova named Hiatus, won her 2YO debut for Tony & Calvin McEvoy on 12 October.
Bennett Racing, who purchased Snitzanova for $200,000 from Arrowfield’s Magic Millions 2023 draft, reports that she will now take a break and return for the major Sydney fillies’ races in the Autumn.
