Sizzling favourite for Magic Millions 2YO Classic
Snitzel and his sire Redoute’s Choice are well-represented among the leading chances in early markets for the $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic on 14 January.
Snitzel’s son Sizzling, so impressive on debut at Eagle Farm last month, is the $3 favourite with TAB Sportsbet, ahead of Snipzu ($4) and Driefontein ($5). A trio of Sydney debut winners, No Looking Back (by Redoute’s Choice), trained by Gai Waterhouse, Arrowfield graduate Amorino (by Snitzel) from the Gerald Ryan stable, and the Chris Waller-trained Fundido are all paying $7.

A second Arrowfield graduate Urban Groove has also attracted early betting support: she is now on $13 after opening at $26. Bred on the Charge Forward/Flying Spur cross responsible for Group 1 winner Headway and Karaka Million winner Fort Lincoln, Urban Groove has pleased the Gai Waterhouse stable since her trial win at Warwick Farm on 28 November.
Another Gai Waterhouse purchase from the 2011 Arrowfield Magic Millions draft is the filly Blazing Snitzel (Snitzel-Trois Couleurs), second at her first start to No Looking Back, and currently paying $21 on the Magic Millions fixed odds market. Arrowfield’s 2012 Magic Millions offering includes a half-sister to Blazing Snitzel, by Charge Forward.
Arrowfield stallions have sired 3 winners and 5 placegetters in the last ten renewals of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, and Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt were themselves placed in the race, in 2004 & 2005. The pair combined in 2011 to supply the brilliant winner Karuta Queen and third-placed Schiffer.
