Second stakes performer for All American

A week after his son Bachman won the ATC T.L. Baillieu H. G3, first season sire All American has added a second stakes performer to his record.

Her name is Tender and she finished strongly to place third in Saturday’s SAJC Dequetteville S. 1000m LR for her breeder Newhaven Park which races her in partnership with trainer David Hayes. It was the filly’s second start after an unlucky debut third at Sandown on 19 March.

Tender is from the Danehill mare Memoir, a full sister to the stakeswinner Princesa (dam of Group-winning fillies Solicit and Star of Giselle), and three-quarter sister to Group 3 winner Kaphero (by Danzero).

Tender is her dam’s third winner and first stakes performer from five foals to race, but unfortunately Memoir died in January 2012.

With 4 winners and more than $300,000 prizemoney, All American is now third on the Australian First Season Sires’ table. Four yearlings from his second crop sold in Session 1 of last week’s Inglis Easter Sale for an average of $185,000, more than 12 times his 2011 fee, with a top price of $360,000 paid by Shadwell Australasia for the filly from Emanday (by Redoute’s Choice) consigned by Broadwater Thoroughbreds. `

All American’s compatibility with Danehill-line mares is already evident in his early performers. Debut winner American Time is also from a Danehill mare; Bachman is out of a Nothin’ Leica Dane mare; and the grand-dam of city winner Invisible is by Redoute’s Choice.
