American agent David Ingordo purchased Lot 602, the colt from Hades (by Encosta de Lago from champion 2YO Hasna) for $460,000 from Newhaven Park. Eighteen lots later Chris Waller paid $400,000 Strawberry Hill Stud‘s colt from dual stakeswinner I Got Chills (by General Nediym).
The top price for a Redoute’s Choice yearling was the $800,000 paid by John O’Shea on Friday for Newgate Farm‘s colt from Group 1 winner Apercu (by Encosta de Lago).
These results took Redoute’s Choice’s sale average to $384,500 for 10 lots sold, with Fastnet Rock in second position with an average of $318,030 for 33 lots sold.
Redoute’s Choice has now headed the Magic Millions sires list by average every year since 2006.
Saturday racing also produced a trio of good city wins for him, with 3YO fillies Royal Descent and Abidewithme winning at Rosehill and Ellerslie and 5YO mare Lucky Angel scoring at Flemington.
