Written Beauty was Jayne Ivil’s Arrowfield Stud Pick of the Yard for the $200,000 VRC Red Roses S. 1100m G3 on Oaks Day at Flemington and the 3YO filly duly delivered to gain her first stakes victory at her fifth start.

It was a high-octane performance by the Orbis Bloodstock home-bred who is the 40th stakeswinner for Written Tycoon (and his third in two days of Cup Week), and the fifth  stakeswinner for her exceptional dam Beauty World (by Danehill Dancer)  after Lite In My Veins,  Hi World, Loveyamadly  (dam of Group 3 winner Immortal Love, by Snitzel) and Ducimus (by Snitzel).

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said, “She’s got a lot of upside but has come to the end of her tether. She has a massive upside, and she will be some filly when she matures.

“It is more about mentally than physically because she is a brute of a horse.”

Written Beauty’s  maiden stakes success follows the Cup Day double by 2YO Finance Tycoon (Maribyrnong Plate G3) and Rich Hips (Maybe Mahal S. G3). This trio are the major contributors to Written Tycoon’s outstanding $773,000 week in Australia, and they have taken his season tally of stakeswinners to a table-leading nine.
