Quick Snitzel scores at Moonee Valley

3YO Quick Snitzel took a convincing step into Melbourne Saturday company when he swept to victory over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley today.

It was the third consecutive win this month for the son of Snitzel, following successes at Wodonga and Morphettville, and takes his prizemoney beyond the $90,000 paid for him by trainer Peter Moody at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

From the Celtic Swing mare It’s You, Quick Snitzel is a half-brother to New Zealand stakeswinner Yourein, and has a full brother in the Oxford Thoroughbreds draft at the 2013 New Zealand Premier Sale.

Snitzel’s 41 winners in Australia this season include multiple Group winner Snitzerland, and Listed stakeswinners Sizzling, Pronto Pronto and Malavio. He is currently 6th on the 3YO Sires’ list, 2nd on the 2YO Sires’ table and 10th on the General list.

The Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, which starts on 9 January, features 23 yearlings by Snitzel, among them two fillies and a colt in the Arrowfield draft .
