Preview of Hitotsu’s first Magic Millions yearlings

Arrowfield Magic Millions graduate & triple Classic winner Hitotsu has 7 fillies & 8 colts on offer at Magic Millions 2026.

The first 15 yearlings by history-making triple Group 1 winner Hitotsu come up for sale at Magic Millions 2026 and they offer buyers an appealing range of opportunities.

Hitotsu himself is a Magic Millions graduate, found in Arrowfield’s 2020 draft by Kevin Kelly for owners Kevin & Vikki Payne. Like other recent Arrowfield Magic Millions buys Private Life, Profondo, Lazzura, Origin Of Love & Snitzanova, he made his mark as a 3YO, winning the Victoria Derby, Australian Guineas & Australian Derby in successive starts, and returning $3.1 million on his $100,000 purchase price.

An interesting feature of Hitotsu’s 7 fillies & 8 colts is that seven pedigrees feature a 4×4 double-up of Danehill, three of them by way of a 3×3 repetition of Hitotsu’s damsire Redoute’s Choice. It’s a pattern that has certainly worked for Zoustar, also out of a Redoute’s Choice mare: he has sired 17 stakes horses, including 8 stakeswinners, from 72 runners out of mares by Redoute’s Choice sons.

Arrowfield’s Lot 8, the filly out of Zelrosa (by Snitzel) is one example, and Bloodstock Manager Jon Freyer explains the Stud’s thinking behind this mating and the construction of Hitotsu’s first book which produced 119 foals.

“The Arrowfield broodmare band is thoroughly infused with Redoute’s Choice blood, as you would imagine. The value and significance of Redoute’s Choice cannot be over-stated and so inbreeding to him is something we embrace, rather than shy away from.

“As Zoustar is also from a Redoute’s Choice mare, he gives us a clue as to what might work with Hitotsu. His son, the highly regarded Growing Empire, is from a Snitzel mare, Group 1 winner Schwarz is from a Not A Single Doubt mare and Zougotcha, Sunlight and Joliestar all carry a female line of Danehill.

“On this basis we felt Zelrosa, as a daughter of Snitzel, from a very fast family – she is a sister to Snitzerland – would add some precocity to the obvious Classic influence from her sire. The Hitotsu – Zelrosa filly presents as a strong, forward, good-moving type.”

Here’s a preview, with vendor comments, of Hitotsu’s 15 first-crop yearlings at Magic Millions 2026, including Jon’s comments on the 8 lots Arrowfield will offer:

Attunga Stud – Lot 2: Colt ex Yours But Mine (Choisir)
Third dam is VRC Oaks G1 winner Bulla Borghese, whose descendants include GW Calliope, Kallos, Tempted, Zethus & Bacchanalia.
Brian Nutt says, “This colt was a surprise packet from the day he was born. A strong, robust and forward type, he has maintained that status throughout his development and was always going to be destined for the Magic Millions Sale in January. Generally speaking, I thought the Hitotsu foals were amongst the top of the first season sires’ produce at the weanling sales earlier this year.”

Arrowfield – Lot 8: Filly ex Zelrosa (Snitzel)
From a winning full sister to G1w Snitzerland (dam of GW Hard Landing) & GW Sooboog. Zelrosa is now in foal to Vandeek.
“A solid, well-built filly from a fast family. Looks as though she will be a precocious type.”

Arrowfield – Lot 34: Filly ex Al Jasrah (Shirocco)
Half-sister to After Summer, VRC Oaks G1-placed & city winner this season, from the family of 4-time G1 winner Hartnell. Al Jasrah has a 2025 colt by Admire Mars and returned to Hitotsu.
“Stylish, well-grown, attractive filly. Exceptionally well-balanced, Classic type, she’s bound to have plenty of appeal.”

Twin Hills Stud – Lot 191: Filly ex Cosmic Powers (Not A Single Doubt)
Half-sister to SW Lord Cosmos from the family of Royal Ascot GW Faithful Son and SW Keep The Faith & Pistols. Cosmic Powers has a 2025 filly by Pierata.
Olly Tait says, “Our Hitotsu filly has been a quality individual since she was born. She has plenty of scope and moves beautifully. Unsurprisingly, given the attributes of her sire, she looks like she will develop into a lovely three year-old.”

Sullivan Bloodstock – Lot 261: Filly ex Evening Star (Rubick)
First foal of a winning half-sister to GW Banana Queen, from the family of G1w Irish Lights and GW Omei Sword & Muramasa.
Sherah Gillingham says, “I’m in love with her. She’s as classy as they come. She has a beautiful head, a great depth of girth and an unbelievable willingness to please. When I think of all the good fillies I’ve prepared she has all the same attributes. I can’t wait to see what she will do on the track.”

Glenbeigh Farm – Lot 294: Colt ex Found The One (Bel Esprit)
Half-brother to dual GW Sylvia’s Mother & Big Swinger, a two-time Melbourne stakes performer this season, from the family of G1w Bel Mer.
Kerry Stephens says, “He’s a handsome, well-balanced colt out of a proven producer, and a very good-moving colt with a lot of quality and presence.”

Arrowfield – Lot 347: Filly ex Hecate (I Am Invincible)
First foal of a daughter of dual GW sprinter Wild Rain, from the family of Champion & Hall of Famer Northerly, and GW Ethereum Girl (by Maurice). Hecate has a 2025 filly by Hitotsu and is in foal to him again.
“Neat, quality filly, well-coupled, fast-looking and from a very speedy family.”

Arrowfield – Lot 364: Colt ex I Am Serious (Choisir)
Half-brother to city winner Pink Shalala, both out of Sydney GW, 8-time winner and multiple Group placegetter I Am Serious.
“Well-balanced, tradesman-like colt. Nice front to him and a decent walk. His mother was very tough and he looks to be cast in that mould also.”

Arrowfield – Lot 380: Colt ex Infiorata (Dream Ahead)
Three-quarter brother to GW Genzano (by Maurice) and grandson of international sprinter Ortensia, G1 winner in Australia, Dubai & England.
“Nice-sized colt who reminds us very much of Hitotsu as a yearling. Not flashy, but has everything in the right place.”

Arrowfield – Lot 400: Colt ex Jackrabbit Jimmy (I Am Invincible)
From a full sister of multiple stakes performer Invincible Tycoon, his 2nd dam is Group-placed SW Tai Tai Tess, descended from dual G1 Classic winner Arborea.
“Big, strong, well-made colt with a great shoulder, good hip and an active walk. A top colt who looks early!”

Arrowfield – Lot 542: Colt ex Minamya (Makfi)
Half-brother to GW and Inglis Bracelet winner Verona Rose & Sydney winner Watch My Girl (by Maurice), from the family of dual G1w Manighar.
“Leggy colt with good angles to him, typical of this Aga Khan family. Again a nice walk – should make a nice three-year-old.”

Pepper Tree Farm – Lot 567: Filly ex Miss Valor (Hinchinbrook)
Half-sister to multiple city winners For Valour & $1 million+ earner Gallant Star, from the family of 2YO GW Nettuno. Miss Valor has a 2025 colt by Zousain and is in foal to Vandeek.
Damien Kirwan says, “We are very much looking forward to presenting this filly at the sale in January! She is a really lovely filly with a great mind and big action, she covers so much ground when she moves. Hitotsu has really stamped her, I don’t think anyone will be in any doubt who her dad is when they see her in January, she has his lovely colour and an almost identical blaze. She strikes me as a filly who would be an Autumn two-year-old who should develop into a lovely three-year-old, which is exactly what you would expect from the sire.”

Arrowfield – Lot 591: Filly ex Ms Rodarte (I Am Invincible)
Half-sister to city winner Modella and grand-daughter of GW Lucky Diva from the family of GW Ms Catherine. Ms Rodarte has a 2025 filly by Castelvecchio and is in foal to Maurice.
“Really smart, quality filly. Nice walk to her – this is a very pretty filly from an emerging broodmare.”

Sullivan Bloodstock – Lot 863: Colt ex Stella Street (Street Sense)
Out of a full sister of G1w & multiple GW Dixie Blossoms, from the family of dual G1w Zonda & dual GW Magnolia Hall.
David Watkins says, “Extremely forward, well-balanced and a very nice colt that I imagine will go early. He has always stood out as a lovely type – one of the better colts we have bred.”

Corumbene Stud – Lot 1165: Colt ex Sangara (Snitzel)
First foal of a full sister to GW & G1-placed Menari, from the family of G1w Whisked and Champion & multiple G1w Tie The Knot.
Zoe Wilson says, “He’s very typical of the female family, he looks tough and racy and should develop into a lovely three-year-old.”

Note: Lot 756, the Hitotsu – Saavoya colt will be withdrawn from the Magic Millions Sale.
