One…2…3 new stakeswinners today for Not A Single Doubt
A week after his 2YO daughter Miracles of Life won the Blue Diamond S. G1, brilliant young sire Not A Single Doubt has added three new stakeswinners to his record, at Flemington & Morphettville in Australia, and Ellerslie in New Zealand.

First up was 4YO mare Petty Cury (ex Bahira by Volksraad) who prevailed in the closest of finishes to the $100,000 ARC Darley Plate 1200m G3 on New Zealand Derby Day at Ellerslie. Trained by Don Sellwood for Hong Kong-based owners Matthew & Elizabeth Oram and Andrew Li, Petty Cury is unbeaten in four starts this season and has the career record of the thoroughly genuine mare she is: six wins and two placings from nine runs.
Petty Cury was a $170,000 purchase by Kieran Moore from the draft of her breeder Westbury Stud at the 2010 New Zealand Premier Sale. Her dam Bahira, a Group 3-winning daughter of Group 1 winner Conifer Bay, is also the dam of stakeswinner Rio Fortune.
Less than two hours later trainer Mick Price produced 3YO filly Isabella Snowflake (ex Tiamo Baby by Strategic) to post her fourth win from 5 starts in the $120,000 VRC Bob Hoysted S. 1000m LR. Not A Single Doubt’s $1.7 million-earning 4YO daughter Karuta Queen was a game third at her first start in almost a year.
Isabella Snowflake, from the family of multiple Melbourne Group winner Vonanne, is raced by her breeder Craig McDonald in partnership with a group that includes Barry Ahearn, Stuart Beer, Paul Crane, Russell Hubbard & Bill Lagerberg.
Only ten minutes after that, My Ex Mate (ex Indris by Kenny’s Best Pal) won the $115,000, 2600-metre SAJC Lord Reims S. G3 at Morphettville by a comfortable 2.3 lengths, after making the most of a sweet rails run under the guidance of jockey Dom Tourneur.
My Ex Mate, whose grand-dam is a half-sister to Peach, the dam of Group 1 winners Denman & Preserve, was bred by Cescastle Pty Ltd and sold for $5,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale. The 5YO gelding is now the winner of nine races and $220,295 for owners Mrs B.J. Blanch, G. Palombi, G. Gabarretta, P. Willis & M. Clarke, and trainer Peter Blanch.
Not A Single Doubt now boasts 15 individual stakeswinners, 6 of them new this season, including two of Australia’s most exciting 2YOs, Miracles of Life and Villa Verde.
A round dozen yearlings by the son of Redoute’s Choice will be offered over the next four days at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, including a colt in the Arrowfield draft, and a pair of fillies in the Bellerive consignment – view them here .
