Not A Single Doubt’s Brother Takes The Next Step

Not A Single Doubt’s younger brother Rogano maintained his unbeaten record when making an impressive return at Canterbury tonight.

Having scored on debut impressively as a juvenile on a heavy track at Canterbury last June, he hadn’t been seen for 252 days since but was produced looking forward in condition by trainer Paul Messara and had too much quality for the opposition at the finish.

Rider Daniel Ganderton sent him straight to the front on jumping and was always in control of the race, afterwards saying “there is a lot of class about him”, with Messara, while a little more subdued, still impressed.

“I was a bit surprised with his pre-race manner. I’m pleased to get away with the win.”

By Redoute’s Choice from Singles Bar, he is the ninth foal of the dam, and is a similar, yet stronger type, to his brother Not A Single Doubt who won Champion First Season Sire (by winners) in 2008/09.

Arrowfield also bred Rogano and retain ownership, having taken him to the 2008 Magic Millions Yearling Sale but passing him in on a reserve of $800,000 which may turn out to be a prudent decision.
