Trevor & Beth Robertson’s home-bred Not A Single Doubt filly Instant Celebrity extended her unbeaten record to 4-from-4 when she rounded the field and sprinted clear to win the $250,000 MRC Thousand Guineas Prelude 1400m G2.

It was her second stakes win after the SAJC Oaklands Plate LR in July, and she is now the TAB’s $3.50 favourite to win the Thousand Guineas G1 on 10 October.

Jockey Craig Williams said, “She’s a very exciting filly and ticked another box today by coming to Melbourne, going around Caulfield.

“What I asked her to do was a little more than normal, but I was confident in her and she will derive a lot from today – fitness, experience and she’s a really high quality filly.”

Raised at South Australia’s renowned Mill Park Stud, Instant Celebrity is the best of four winners out of Celebrity Girl (by Starcraft) who won two Listed Races as a 3YO for the Robertsons and was fourth behind Bliss Street in the Guineas Prelude before an unplaced run in Atlantic Jewel’s Thousand Guineas G1.

Second dam, the Listed winner and prolific producer Dashing Granada (by Keltrice) carried Arrowfield’s silks into fourth placing in All Time High’s Thousand Guineas in 2000.

The Not A Single Doubt/Starcraft cross was rarely tried but produced Instant Celebrity & 2YO Group 3 winner Stronger from just seven foals.

Less than two months into the 2020/21 season, Not A Single Doubt boasts four stakeswinners and $1.6 million prizemoney, enough to hold sixth position on the General Sires’ table, despite having fewer than 100 runners.
