Spring stars kick up for Not A Single Doubt

A 2YO debutante, a 4YO Everest contender and a 6YO weight-for-age star all contributed valuable Group placings on Epsom Day at Randwick to Not A Single Doubt’s outstanding early-season record.

In fact, they were valuable enough to put him back into second spot on the highly competitive Australian General Sires’ premiership with almost $2.4 million – more than twice the prizemoney he’d compiled at the same stage of last season.

It’s a figure that Boniface Ho’s Arrowfield 3YO Sprint winner Classique Legend can increase dramatically if he wins, or even places in the $14 million Everest or the $7.5 million Golden Eagle on 2 November. He continued his preparation when third in the ATC Hill S. 1200m G2, less than a length from the winner Brutal.

Arrowfield graduate Stellar Pauline (ex Negotiate by Red Ransom) opened her career with an excellent run for second in the first 2YO stakes race of 2019/20, the ATC Gimcrack S. 1000m G3.

The Snowden-trained full sister to Group 1 winner Secret Agenda was purchased for $875,000 by Stonestreet Stables from Arrowfield’s Magic Millions draft.

Jockey Kerrin McEvoy commented, “Good run. She’s come on well from the trial, a little bit of buffeting on the corner which didn’t help her, but she balanced up again and hit the line nicely.”

Proven Thoroughbreds’ filly Gotta Kiss (ex Sweet Kiss by Strada) went one better to score by 2.5 lengths on debut at Eagle Farm and become Not A Single Doubt’s 178th juvenile winner. In-bred 3 x 3 to Danehill , Gotta Kiss was a $150,000 purchase from Yarraman Park’s Magic Millions consignment.

Darby Racing’s 6YO gelding Samadoubt has already done his bit this Spring with heady weight-for-age victories in the Winx S. G1 and Chelmsford S. G2, and only a very good mare stopped him adding a third in the ATC Hill S. 2000m G2.

Samadoubt and MRC Memsie S. G1 winner Scales Of Justice head Not A Single Doubt’s nine Group & Listed stakes performers from six crops since 1 August.
