New stakes performer for Charge Forward
The Mummify Stable’s smart 2YO colt Rush became Charge Forward ‘s latest stakes performer with a brave run for second in the $S200,000 Singapore TC Magic Millions Juvenile Championship 1200m Sing-3 at Kranji this evening.

Rush jumped out well then settled nicely behind the leaders, headed by his stablemate and second favourite Mr Big. As Mr Big kicked clear around the turn Rush peeled out to attack with an effort that took him past Kaiser, and 1.5 lengths from Mr Big, who won in a time of 1.09.92.
The result was a notable quinella for trainer Michael Freedman, who said of Rush after the race, “The second horse ran very well and also has a very good future over a bit more ground here.”
Rush (ex Group 3-placed Flidais by Timber Country) was bred by Arrowfield and Planette Thoroughbred Trading Pty Ltd, and purchased for $75,000 from the Arrowfield draft at the 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Flidais foaled a filly by Snitzel in 2010 and is due to foal a sibling to Rush in October.
Charge Forward is one of the most exciting members of a high quality group of Australian sires that began their stud careers in 2005. He has been represented by 11 juvenile winners this season, including Group 1-placed New Zealand 2YO stakeswinner Fort Lincoln, whose lucrative Karaka Million victory has put Charge Forward on top of the 2010/11 NZ 2YO Sires’ list. In Australia, dual Group 1 winner Response and Group winners Shrapnel and Solar Charged have helped the son of Red Ransom to season-end tallies of 45 winners and $2.1 million prizemoney.
Charge Forward’s 2011 service fee is $33,000 inc. GST.
