King’s Rose blooms again in Eulogy Stakes

The outstanding Redoute’s Choice filly King’s Rose has added today’s $NZ70,000 MRC Eulogy S. 1600m G3 to her record, with a repeat of the field-looping run which gave her victory in last month’s CJC NZ 1000 Guineas G1.

Trained by Jason Bridgman for her owner-breeder Dr Gene Tsoi, King’s Rose settled wide, just behind midfield, and travelled comfortably into the home turn when she moved into the lead and quickly put a winning break on the field to score in a time of 1.37.93 on the Dead4 track. Kiwi Lady and Remember Howe filled the placings.

King’s Rose (ex Nureyev’s Girl by Nureyev) has now won four of her eight starts, the last three consecutively in Group & Listed Stakes company, and her prizemoney exceeds $250,000. She also maintains her lead on the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year table with 18 points, ahead of Remember Howe on 7.5 points.

King’s Rose and Starcraft ‘s brilliant daughter We Can Say It Now have cut something of an Arrowfield swathe through New Zealand 3YO racing this season, winning three Group 1 races between them, as well as two Listed Races and today’s Group 3 event named for the celebrated foundation broodmare Eulogy.

Redoute’s Choice’s 2007 crop has supplied four of his five stakeswinners in 2010/11 to date, with Australian Listed Race winners Milestone and Kittens, and MVRC AAMI Vase G2 winner Rekindled Interest joining King’s Rose, and 5YO Drumbeats contributing the AJC Bill Ritchie H. G3. The champion sire of 19 Group 1 winners heads the current Australian 3YO Sires’ list by prizemoney ($1,156,257) and shares the lead on indvidual winners (23).

Redoute’s Choice has 17 yearlings catalogued for the 2011 Magic Milllions Gold Coast Sale, five of them in the Arrowfield draft . Five yearlings from Starcraft’s small 2009 crop will also be offered at Magic Millions, four of them by Arrowfield.

Two colts by Australia’s champion sire will also be offered on the first day of the New Zealand Premier Yearling Sale, 31 January, from the drafts of Trelawney Stud & Curraghmore Stud.
