It’s a filly for Miss Finland
Arrowfield’s pride & joy Miss Finland safely foaled a bay/brown filly to Street Cry at 12.45 am this morning.

Already christened Finella by the Stud’s Operations Manager (and Miss Finland’s first and most devoted fan) Sam Fairgray, the filly is her dam’s fourth foal following Miss Helsinki (3YO by Hussonet, in training with Paul Messara), Woodbine (2YO colt by Hussonet, with Gai Waterhouse) and a yearling filly by Street Cry.
Co-incidentally, Woodbine had his first trial this morning at Warwick Farm, finishing third, and Miss Helsinki is due to trial in the next fortnight.
Miss Finland was the champion 2YO and champion 3YO filly of her generation, with 11 wins from 26 starts including the STC Golden Slipper G1, VRC Oaks G1, VRC Australian Guineas G1, MRC The Thousand Guineas G1 & STC Storm Queen S. G1.
By Redoute’s Choice from the US-bred mare Forest Pearl (by Woodman), Miss Finland was bred by the partnership of Gainsborough Stud Australia with Arrowfield, and raced by Arrowfield in partnership with long-time friends and clients of the Stud, Alan Jones & John Leaver.
Daughters of Redoute’s Choice have already left 11 stakeswinners, most recently the promising New Zealand 3YO colt Sacred Falls (by O’Reilly). Perhaps not surprisingly, all 11 stakeswinners are by stallions from lines with which Redoute’s Choice himself has enjoyed success: Mr Prospector, Last Tycoon, Sir Tristram, Snippets, Encosta de Lago, Biscay & Storm Cat.
