International updates for Redoute’s Choice

It’s been a tremendous weekend in Australia and New Zealand for Redoute’s Choice , with Group wins by King’s Rose, Sister Madly and Bid Spotter, and Caulfield stakes placings by Glissade & Varenna Miss.

There have been international updates for Redoute’s Choice too, first on Thursday in Dubai, where Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum‘s 4YO colt Musir (from Dizzy De Lago by Encosta De Lago) opened a new campaign with a good second in the Meydan Firebreak S. LR. A Group 1 winner in South Africa at two, Musir won both the UAE Guineas G3 and UAE Derby G2 last season.

Today came news from Japan that Kazumi Yoshida‘s 3YO colt Ranryoo (from dual Australian Group 1 winner Hollow Bullet by Tayasu Tsuyoshi) has won his second race, the 28.4 million yen (~ $A340,000) Kizugawa Tokubetsu over 1600m at Kyoto. Ranryoo was bred by the Arrowfield/Jungle Pocket partnership and purchased by Mr Yoshida for $850,000 at the 2009 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
