First stakes performer for Pariah
With perfect timing, a month before Magic Millions 2022, first season sire Pariah has logged his first stakes performer Swiss Exile, an eye-catching debut third in Saturday’s $130,000 BRC Phelan Ready 1000m LR at Eagle Farm.
“Eye-catching” actually under-sells a performance that was almost completely derailed at the start, when Swiss Exile jumped awkwardly, jockey Ryan Maloney’s knee struck the barriers and the colt tried to buck.
That caused him to lose several lengths and then, when he was still second-last, 400 metres from home, he bumped with Proud Of You, yet still made up enough ground to finish less than a length from the winner Palazzo Spirit.
A little more education is clearly required before a Magic Millions 2YO Classic start, but Swiss Exile’s talent is abundantly clear in the race video. (He carries the navy blue silks with the pink cap.)

Bred by Gerry Harvey at Baramul Stud, Swiss Exile was purchased from Magic Millions Adelaide for $95,000 by trainer Annabel Neasham & Brian McGuire.
His dam Swiss Francs (by Swiss Ace) descends from the dual Group 1 winner and excellent broodmare Skating, dam of the 2005 Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Bradbury’s Luck – like Pariah, a son of Redoute’s Choice.
Fifteen yearlings from Pariah’s second crop will be offered at Magic Millions Gold Coast 2022, including 5 colts & 5 fillies in the Arrowfield draft.
