Fairhill Farm celebrates new Not A Single Doubt stakes performer

Fairhill Farm’s Mike O’Donnell was smiling on Sunday evening after 2YO Desert Fox stormed home for second behind favourite War Affair in the $S200,000 Singapore Juvenile Championship 1200m Sgp-3.

It was Mike who sent the US-bred mare Sandy Desert (by Mr. Prospector’s son Line In The Sand) to Not A Single Doubt in 2009 and sold the resulting colt as a weanling for $56,000 to bloodstock agent Michael Wallace. The colt was re-sold to Wallace and trainer Michael Freedman for $120,000 at the 2012 New Zealand Premier Sale.

Sandy Desert returned to Not A Single Doubt in the following two seasons, producing a colt purchased for $130,000 at this year’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale by Hong Kong trainer Ricky Yiu, and a 2012 filly likely to be offered at the 2014 Melbourne Sale.

Mike says of the fillly, “She is chestnut with a white blaze and three white legs, a nice strong type and could also make a two-year-old. Another Miracles Of Life or Karuta Queen!”

Fairhill Farm enjoyed notable success at this year’s Melbourne Sale as the vendor of the Not A Single Doubt-Euchre colt, sold for $300,000 – the highest price so far paid for a Not A Single Doubt yearling.

Michael Freedman, who also prepares the third placegetter Peace No War, said after the Juvenile Championship, “I feel a bit stiff, but they’ve both done me very proud….Desert Fox just missed out, but has proven yet again he’s a very good horse we can certainly count on.”  Desert Fox won his first two starts in June and his earnings from three starts now exceed $S100,000.

Later on the same card Not A Single Doubt’s 6YO son Always Certain, already a multiple stakeswinner, finished third in the Chairman’s Trophy 1800m Sgp-3.

The Singapore pair close out a splendid season for Not A Single Doubt, sire of 19 stakes performers worldwide in 2012/13, including eight stakeswinners headlined by the brilliant Blue Diamond G1 winner Miracles of Life.

Not A Single Doubt has just passed the 100-winner mark in Australia this season, the first time he has hit that milestone and surely not the last.

Not A Single Doubt’s fee for the 2013 season is $33,000 inc. GST.
